The 4th Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival “Reinventing Bridges”, supported yet again by the European Fund for the Balkans, comes to Bucharest on 11-13 October 2013, at National Museum Țăranului Român & Club Țăranului. Film makers from all the Balkan countries as well as Germany, Belgium, Italy, France and Sweden reinvented their bridges and will share their work with the audience. Young and creative people, as well as everyone passionate about the short film industry are invited to a 3-day celebration of Balkan diversity and culture.
The projections and all the events of the Festival take place at National Museum Țăranului Român & Club Țăranului, Intrarea Monetăriei, Șoseaua Kisellef 3, Bucharest. Doors open at 18:00am with films projections, DJ parties, live bands, open discussions with jury members and professionals from the film industry, and an interactive photo project. The Award Ceremony will take place on October 13. Ada Condeescu (BBB Jury President), one of the most appreciated young Romanian actresses acting in Florin Serban's award-winning film When I Want to Whistle I Whistle will be there with the rest of the Jury members. BBB Prizes are designed by Marietta Lyriotaki and produced by Solid 3D Printing.
For the past four successive years Balkans Beyond Borders brings young people from the Balkans together, inspiring, engaging and motivating them through its activities. This year the Festival tackles the theme of reinvention: how can the Balkans, with all their diversity, rewrite their past and reinvent their future?
The jury is composed of President, Ms Ada Condeescu (Romania), Ms Effi Weiss & Amir Borenstein (Israel) and Ms Gergana Doncheva (Bulgaria). The pre-selection committee consists of Adela Demetja (Albania), Art Director of BBB, Sabir Kanaqi (Montenegro), Dimitra Gjica (Albania) and Yanna Varbanova (Bulgaria). Balkans Beyond Borders has been awarded 2nd “European Charlemagne Youth Prize” thanks to its engagement to the youth mobility in the Balkan region and the enhancement of the European identity. Having as main tool the art of film making and image it brings young creative people together and promotes their work throughout the region and beyond enhancing their motivation and creativity.
