Balkans Beyond Borders was awarded with the second Charlemagne Youth Prize for its engagement to the youth mobility in the Balkans region and the enhancement of the European identity. BBB is gathering young creative people through different ways of film making and promoting their vision and creativity through the region.
BBB representatives were awarded with the prize at the award ceremony hosted by Aachen University, and co organized by the European Parliament. The second Charlemagne Youth Prize was given to Balkans Beyond Borders organization by Mr Martin Schulz, German MEP and leader of the European Parliament’s Socialists and Democrats Group. In his speech he underlined that “Balkans Beyond Borders seeks to overcome borders by making films and raising awareness that all the Balkan countries will gain through regional co-operation. Balkans Beyond Borders has its finger on the pulse of the times with this year’s theme of shooting short films on the crisis.”

The next BBB activity will take place in Athens from 20 to 22 June 2011.

This Film Festival will gather people willing to work and create beyond borders. BBB will present the film festival which will be accompanied by many short films, photo exhibition, DJ parties and live bands.
