The Leadership Development Programme Fellows have the pleasure to invite you to the panel discussion “THE CHALLENGES OF ACHIEVING EU CANDIDATE STATUS – A regional perspective from Albania, Macedonia, Serbia and Romania”. This event is organized jointly by the LDP Fellows in close collaboration with the European University of Tirana and the EU Info Centre in Tirana on:

at the European University of Tirana, Aula 209

The panel discussion is organized in the framework of the IV Edition (2009 – 2010), Southeast Europe and the EU – Leadership Development Programme, an academic programme jointly developed by the College of Europe (Bruges) and TRANSFUSE Association (Berlin), with the financial support of the European Fund for the Balkans (Belgrade). This programme aims to transmit knowledge about the EU and the development of its relations with Southeast Europe, as well as wider issues of international and economic relations.


The event consists of panel discussion and it will be followed by launching of a booklet, which aims at analysing the process of achieving EU candidate status seen from a regional perspective with the aim of identifying differences and similarities of the process.

LDP Fellows hereby invite all interested students, academics, representatives from the civil society, international community and public institutions to attend this panel discussion to share their opinions and extend views on the topic.

There will also be a limited edition of specified publication presenting country cases, written by our young professionals from the region, available at the event in hard copy. The publication could also be viewed electronically and we encourage all aspiring visitors of the panel to read it prior to the event in order to support a quality debate and questioning.
