The second and the final seminar of the 3-month Fellowship programme for 20 Young Government Officials from the Western Balkans will be held in Brussels and Bruges in the period between June 24 – July 1, 2014.
The seminar programme which will be implemented in cooperation with College of Europe, will offer a specifically designed combination of learning, networking and team building. It will serve as a platform to give an insight into the current political and socio-economic, global, European and Balkan challenges and opportunities. Fellows will have an opportunity to meet different representatives of EU institutions, think tanks and academia based in Brussels and Bruges, and discuss the state of play of the EU policies and activities after the 2014 election. Specific accent will be given to the EU enlargement processes. In this direction the new initiative of the European Fund for the Balkans and Centre for Southeast European Studies, Balkans in Europe Policy Advisory Group, will present their policy paper "Unfulfilled Promise: Completing the Balkan Enlargement” about the prospects of completing the Balkan enlargement.
The objective of the training sessions is to provide the EFB Fellows with an in-depth practical skills in two areas: EU Accession Negotiations and Change Management, aiming at preparing them to take an active role in the EU accession processes of their countries. Trainings are carefully designed to further develop leadership skills, enhance self-confidence and foster the transfer of knowledge and skills gained during the EFB Fellowship. By their active participation in a interactive settings, the fellows will be prepared to face the challenges of reintegration in their home institutions and work environments and ready to step up with confidence into their change making roles.
The Seminar will also provide an innovative teambuilding activities aiming at building the strong and long-lasting network of friends and professionals in the region.
