Participants of the 6th edition of the LDP Programme have just returned from the Summer Academy held in Bratislava, Vienna and Mauerbach. 2 week Summer Academy included various topics related to the European Union and the development of its relations with Southeast Europe, as well as wider issues of international and economic relations. The first week of the Academy covered the EU and SEE related topics: Institutional Framework and Decision Making Process of the EU, Legal Framework of the EU, Western Balkans and the EU Enlargement, EU Foreign Policy, Economic and Energy Strategies in the EU etc. The second week of the Academy offered various practical training components focusing on negotiations, project management and presentation skills providing participants with essential leadership qualities. After two day training on project management cycle participants developed their project proposals which were officially presented at the end of Academy. The topics covered by the Group Projects are:

  • 2. Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe Challenges of Achieving the EU Candidate Status - “Time for Plan B(alkans)”
  • 3. KosovoRegional Cooperation in SEE - “How I “SEE” it.”
  • 4. MacedoniaNational Identities, Minority Rights and European Integration - “Identify your Identity”
  • 5. SerbiaEuropean Culture and Values - “Europe for your Thoughts”
For the next 6 months participant will be implementing their project activities which will finish with the final events to be held in following cities: Tirana, Sarajevo, Prishtina, Skopje, Novi Sad.
