Sashka Cvetkovska from A1/Evrozum, Macedonia, Jovana Manic from Mreza Production Group, Serbia, Artan Haracia from Birn Kosovo, Ljiljana Smiljanic from ATV Banjaluka, BiH, Ivana Petrovic from TV Nova, Croatia and Ljiljana Savic from TVCG, Montenegro, will visit Brussels in 2010 to report as "special Brussels correspondents" for their media.

The "Live from Europe" programme is a customized production/training project for Western Balkans journalists on EU Affairs and European integration coverage. During their "Inside Europe Experience", visiting journalists spend up to two weeks reporting on Brussels world of EU affairs.

Since 2007, 16 TV journalists from Western Balkan countries have benefited from this programme. They got the chance to meet key EU personalities, expand their network of contacts in TV services of the EU and, ultimately, build stronger links between Balkan journalists and key actors of the European institutions.

Sashka Cvetkovska and Jovana Manic were the first to participate in 2010. They covered topics such as: Greek crisis and euro, European year against poverty and social exclusion; How transparent are EU institutions etc.

Live from Europe” has been supported by the European Commission’s DG Enlargement and Norwegian Government in 2007/09. In 2010 it continues with the support of the European Fund for the Balkans.

Borjan Jovanovski from A1 TV, Macedonia participated in the programme in July 2009: “For me this was opportunity to do more human type of stories on EU integration. This kind of coverage is a “sine qua non” for the success of our job. If we reduce EU integration process to political rhetoric of domestic or Brussels politicians, it quickly becomes distant and difficult to understand for the wide audience - and the wide audience should precisely be our target, because it concerns their lives.”

Ljiljana Smiljanic, ATV Banjaluka, BiH was in Brussels in March 2009: "It was a unique experience for me. For the first time, I had a chance to do stories concerning European future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but from the very center. My stay in Brussels gave me another point of view for certain tasks that Bosnia should complete on its way towards full EU membership.”
