The European Fund for the Balkans (EFB) launches a new call for applications for the 2009/2010 edition of the “Fellowship Programme for Young Government Officials from the Western Balkans: Supporting Excellence and Leadership in Governance”. Civil Servants of ministries in the Western Balkan countries can apply. The Programme is part of the wider mission of the European Fund for the Balkans aimed at building of new generation of civil servants with new visioning and regional thinking. The Fellowship Programme is specifically designed to complement the existing programmes supporting institutional reform in the Western Balkans while supporting links between administrations in the region and individual networkings. The Programme aims to contribute to the development of effective and efficient state administrations in the region by offering a tailor-made fellowship and training programme for highly qualified young professionals from the central government of the countries of the Western Balkans. The programme gives opportunity to 20 civil servants from the Western Balkan countries to spend 3 months (April 2010 – July 2010) of fellowship in a state institution in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, The Netherlands or Poland. It also incorporates a visiting programme to EU and other institutions in Brussels and joint training workshops.
